When you install a new Bryant® air conditioner, you want to enjoy that investment for years to come. What if we told you we know the answer to keeping your A/C operating better and longer? What if we told you the answer is easy and affordable?
Psst! It’s regular maintenance. Whether you do some of it yourself or leave it all to the service techs at Sabre Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, performing regular air conditioner maintenance and tuneups will directly improve its lifespan, energy efficiency, and even noise levels.
Create a Regular Air Conditioner Maintenance Checklist
Maintaining your air conditioner unit doesn’t have to be a hassle. Make a list of the important steps and note the date you perform them. Here are some of the tasks we suggest including on your list (just remember to turn the system off first):
- Replace or clean air filters. Clogged, dirty filters block airflow and significantly reduce your cooling system’s efficiency. In fact, when you replace a dirty air filter with a clean one, you can lower your energy consumption by five to 15 percent!
- Remove dirt and debris from around the coils. The evaporator and condenser coils collect dirt and debris with use. Cleaning the coils once a year keeps airflow moving and helps the system operate more efficiently.
- Check and clean the fins. Cleaning the outside of the A/C unit with water or air pressure prevents blockages in the fins.
- Trim back shrubs and bushes. Although not directly related to your air conditioner, heavy foliage and shrubbery around your unit can reduce the airflow needed to help your system run efficiently. We recommend at least a two-foot clearing around the unit.
Be Ahead of the Game—Schedule a Spring Tuneup Now
The last thing you want is an air conditioner that doesn’t function when you need it most. That’s why we recommend a checkup at least once a year, preferably in the spring before the heat arrives.
You can also consider our Sabre Blue Maintenance Program. Save time and enjoy peace of mind knowing your home cooling system will always be properly maintained by our knowledgeable experts. It’ll give you better indoor air quality, improved comfort, increased savings, and longer-lasting equipment.
It’s true what they say—an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Beat the heat and prevent costly repairs by starting an air conditioner maintenance routine this spring.
